If you're gonna get a new rig just for those games, hold off on it.

Sounds like it has enough "oomph" for it though.

to me personally, it sounds like you're trying to go all out....noting the amd64 board and cpu so why would you skimp on the memory?

I agree. If you're going to buy value memory, get Buffalo (Winbond BH-5 if you can find them).

And get a gig. 512 will probably be the recommended. You will want more then that.

can't make up my mind whether the upgrade is worth it, was looking at XP 2200 1.8ghz for 63.85 shipped over my duron 1.3ghz *confused*
I don't game much at all so this upgrade maybe null?

Save up a few more bucks and get a Barton 2500+.

I think you should wait until the games and benchmarks are out. not to mention the hardware we're going to see before Christmas. The last thing you want is to chuck out now and then find you could easily OC an Athlon64 to 2.6GHz and blow everything out of the water, you know?
