My Sony crapped out on me last night. This one supports Divx, DVD-R and +R and seems to have everything I want. Anyone ever used this brand?

I returned a stick of ram and had some credit coming. I figured I'd get it from them with no cost out of pocket. Wal Mart here has a Phillips that will play Divx like this one, but I have a deep hatred for everything Phillips.
 
That Phillips player you hate is regarded to be the best player out there for compatibility of all the supported filetypes.

I'm sure this Rjtech will be fine though.

It looks great, but I have had THREE Phillips tv's die on me in three years. Also a Phillips 19' monitor. I just have bad luck with them.

 
Get an exchange warranty on the DVD player if you're worried.

A lot of local retail stores will offer some kind of cheap warranty, which isn't a bad idea on DVD players (from my experience anyway).
