It needs a router in front of it... How does that help?

Pfsense or Sophos on a vm or computer.

I read few reports and Honestly, I do not see anything that Justify spending the amount of money that it goes for (buying and subscription).

That said, if one is the type that can not live without this, then CUJO is the thing to go with.

Idk about this cascading router stuff

One of the cons to Direct/DHCP mode is that CUJO is also performing Network Address Translation (NAT). This means your network is now double-NATed, since your router already is performing NAT. Technically, this isn't a big deal for most traffic, but it can cause problems with VoIP, gaming, and other connection-sensitive traffic.

Seems like a config heavy device, and sends traffic information off-site for analysis before letting you know about potential problems.

I'd be more inclined to run pfsense as a firewall, or a Linux vm as a firewall.
