Hello,

I am a 21 year old junior in college, i am 5 ' 4 and fat as anything. I weigh around 260 now, but maxed at 265 i think. For the past 9 days, i have been going to the gym every single day, on the elliptical for about 50 mins, burning around 580-600 calories.

I have seen an increase in everything within a week, i feel faster, lighter, stronger and just feel great. I think i have lost some weight as well. I sweat like no other. Earlier, i used to sweat very little, especially in sports, but now, i literally DRIP. Is this a good thing or bad thing ? also, my heart rate has gone down, I used to be at 180 when i used to be on for 15 minutes, now my usual heart rate is 147-150.

What you guys think ? i also have been eating healthier. I never used to eat breakfast in the morning. Now, i drink a slim fast every morning, since i dont have time for breakfast. That also has helped me alot.

Tell me what you think, opinions are needed !!!

Thanks

What you're doing is a good start. If you want thorough advice on how to lose weight, you should read the fat loss sticky (http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=162171). Just a quick suggestion though... drinking calories is a great way to take in too many calories. Liquids like milk, protein shakes, soda, etc all act minimally on the hunger hormones. Even if you drink 1,000 calories in milk or slim fast, you will easily be hungry in an hour. You should start making time for a good, solid breakfast (eggs and fruit for example). Wake up 15-20min earlier. You've gotta make the time for this stuff.

if you find it difficult to wake up earlier in the morning you could also cook food the previous night/day and just heat it up in the microwave to save time. or you could eat prepared foods like a sliced turkey roll-up and an orange or some other fruit.

also, regarding sweating, my understanding is that as your body gets acclimated (sp?) to working out more often, you will tend to sweat more as your body "knows" that you intend to workout and will compensate by attempting to cool down the body with sweat. just make sure you drink lots of water to replace those lost fluids.
