You should wait for the 16ms response time LCDs to start making its way into the 19+ size screens. This is one 25ms, which means it will ghost/smear when playing games, or viewing fast moving movies. Other than that, you can't beat the prices, as they are coming down, but I hear the demand is high so prices may eventually go up as stock dwindles.

seems like a nice deal. I have the Planar PL191M with close to the same specs (only difference is 500:1 contrast ratio). Got it at dell a while back for $580. I play a lot of SOF2 and it seems to keep up just fine with a 25ms response time (granted it's no 15ms PX171). DVD's and Tv play fine with very little ghosting. Samsung LCD monitors are suppose to be some of the best from what I hear.

If you want a Samsung 19" get the new 192T.

Also, Dell just announced a 20" 1600x 1200 LCD with a 16ms response time.

Well that new dell 20" is 16ms so I would assume that the 19"ers shoudn't be to far off at all.

Its somewhat improved. There is a review of the 192t with comparisions to the 191t here on AnandTech. Its a good read.

I've had the 191T for about a year now and like it very much. The ghosting is minimal and you don't notice it at all after a week or so of use. I had a problem with the power supply so now I can't turn it off cause if I do, I may not be able to turn it back on LOL. It's still under warranty but I don't feel like sending it back to CA to get it fixed.

I have this one, as does my friend who bought on my recommendation. I love it. I am not a heavy gamer, but On Medal of Honor I have never noticed smearing and it looks great. Definitely use a digital connection, it looks better.

One thing I like about this monitor is the thin bezel and low key non-distracting design. Both the black and the silver have major envy factor for people seeing it on your desk.
