Ok, I have a 2000 Toyota Camry, now this is neither a good or bad thing for me, but i was just wonderig what you thought. When i start up the car, the RPM's kick up high to like 1.5 or 2, and stay there till the car heats up, now this is when the car is in park. Now i have heard this called the "Choke" i really have no idea, but i was wondering if anyones else car does this

Well, my rpms hop to around 1.5 when i start it cold, thats normal, as it heats up it will go down. When i just start my car in the morning I idle in the 1500 range, after it warms up to norm operating temp it drops down to about 500 or so.

I really don't think its anything you need to worry about. If it goes away it is probably fine.

My car does the same thing. The revs will be higher until the car reaches operating temp. It actually does that to get your car to operating temp faster.

holy carp!!!!! I can't believe you do that and don't know what it is??? your radial torque transducer is failing!!! It limits the engine from overreving and burning out the pistons while heating up!!!!! usually you can only do this a few times before the engine explodes and shoots fuel ingectors and transmission gears through the rest of the car...often impaling the driver and exploding the gas tank
