What do you guys recommend?

I want to get an MSI Twin Frozr 7950 and I am wondering what Wattage PSU I should get? I was going to go with a 750W but I notice some people are running fine with 500W or so. What should I get?

For reference, this PSU will be powering 8 120mm fans in my Antec 1200, a Corsair H80, and a Mobo.

Let me know, thanks!

If you recommend a specific PSU, let me see it. Hopefully it wont cost me an arm and a leg.

Generally, you will be fine with a high quality unit that has the necessary PCIe connectors, that's 2x 6-pin for an MSI 7950 3GD5/OC. Any reputable 500W unit has those.

However, assuming a heavily overclocked CPU (why else would you have such high end case and CPU cooling 😉), and also factoring in the huge overclocking potential of an otherwise low power 7950 (800MHz to 1.1GHz or more) , it's a good idea to overshoot the wattage a bit. I would recommend around 600W for a single GPU mobo, 750W for a dual GPU mobo.

Here are some good bang for buck options.

PC Power & Cooling MK III 600W $70 ($50 AR) - 80+ Bronze, modular, 5-yr warranty, made by Seasonic
Rosewill Capstone 550-M $76 AP - 80+ Gold, modular, 5-yr warranty, made by Super Flower
Rosewill Capstone 650W $80 AP - 80+ Gold, non-modular, 5-yr warranty, made by Super Flower
PC Power & Cooling MK II 750W $90 - ($70 AR) 80+ Silver, non-modular, 7-yr warranty, made by Seasonic
OCZ ZT750 $100 ($80 AR) - 80+ Bronze, modular, 5-yr warranty, made by Enhance Electronics

edit: personally I'd choose between the two PCP&C units.
