I just installed a new graphics card, Asus x1900xt and installed the orginal cd drivers...all the games look great and everything so I was wondering if its worth the risk to try a new graphics drive or should i just keep the one I have...is the rule if it works dont update?

Always use the new drivers for GPU. They fix compatability issues in games and sometimes even boost fps.

the current ones are the catalyst 6.7s, there should be a changelog of that what they did. depending on when they packaged your gpu up it may have some older drivers that may or may not work with dc cpus as well (if that is what you run, etc). personally when i was running the 6.6s they seemed to use a lot more ram than the 6.5s or 6.7s, so who knows.

i would read the changelog and see if anything in it applies to your machine, if then update.

There is no risk other than better graphics

not always, sometimes a newer driver set will create issues, but since the 6.7s have been out for a couple weeks i would say they are ok. i will usually not install them before they have been out for that long as i don't want to be the one that finds the bug :)
