What do you guys recommend for an online portfolio?

This is just my opinion, but personally I hate animated flash galleries. I want a static web page that shows me either a story line with photos like the one you posted, or just a gallery of thumbnails with direct links to larger versions of the pictures. Even the flash gallery you posted wouldn't be too bad if the transition animations were gone and clicking on a thumbnail simply showed the photo. 🙂
 
Another vote against flash. I just don't like it, no matter how cool & novel the interface is.
