WTF, one of the people interviewed is a 32 year resident of the hotel.

Hotels don't do credit checks. It's not uncommon, actually.

Just expensive.

Because, you know, if you don't extract as much money as possible from the poor... they might not be poor any more. Can't have that!

I think I would love living in a hotel if I was wealthy. Do whatever I enjoy all day and know when I get home it will be clean and I can just watch TV and unwind.

Anyone living in an $85 a night hotel is the furthest thing from poor.

Fortunately, the woman found dead in the hotel's water tank had exceptionally good taste.

It's a very sad story. Girl was from Vancouver. Probably didn't realize how dangerous downtown LA is and just wanted a cheap place to stay during her trip. Probably her first holiday without her family too. Then some savage comes along, murders her, probably rapes her too, and unceremoniously dumps her body in a water tank. I hope whoever did it gets executed.

Don't worry - the LAPD is on the case. They'll leave no minority unturned in the search for her killer.

I'm living in an extended stay style place and its awesome. One credit charge for the month, no bills, no furniture purchased. No renters rights but I don't really need them.
