4 scrambled eggs w/ shredded cheese
2 pieces of bacon
1 serving of fresh fruit (banana, or various berries)
1 cup of yogurt
1 glass of orange or apple juice
1 giant cup of coffee

I love love love carbs (toast, muffins, bagels, etc.) but they directly correlate to my body fat so I only eat them if I'm out with friends.

Skipping breakfast makes you gorge at lunch.

A lack of self control makes you gorge at lunch. I've been fasting 18-20 hours a day for a week now and haven't had any issues aside from some DOMS. lifts haven't suffered either.

I love having fish for breakfast. It digests really well. Of course, I never thought of eating fish until I went to a Hatian bakery and had some patties (chicken, beef, spinach, saltfish, and herring). The patties are typically to oily for me, so I get the peppered herring in bread (it's pronounced something like 'Pain Aresol'). Other times I get 'saltfish' from a Guyanese or Jamaican place. Try the Guyanese saltfish with a roti or in a 'bake' (again, the 'bake' is too oily for me, so you can ask for a 'roast bake'). Have the Jamaican saltfish with either Ackee or Calaloo. I live in NY and work in Queens, so there is PLENTY of cultures for me to choose from. BTW: If you have a Guyanese place nearby, try the eggplant, pumpkin, shrimp and potatoes, and spinach dishes for breakfast. I LOVE spinach for breakfast (I often get half spinach / half saltfish with a roti on the side).

All I can say is that you really need to try what other cultures have for breakfast to truly understand how wrong we do breakfast in this country. Even if all the other things I suggested are too 'crazy' for you, just go to a Jamaican place and get some 'porridge'. I love the peanut or banana, but will eat cornmeal or hominy just the same. It sticks to your ribs, is vegetarian, inexpensive, and most of all tasty. I swear, if you ate with me for a week, you'd never want to go back to the way you eat now.

Really? You think self control is involved?

I'd say so. I personally track my calories each day as I follow a "if it fits your diet". I had 1/2 cup of ice cream last night. After the ice cream, I sat at around 2,500 calories. I could have easily demolished the rest of it, which would have put me probably around 3,200 calories. Not good for me as I am trying to get cut up. My self control stopped me from polishing off my Ben and Jerry's pint.

If I'm eating something in the morning it usually isn't good for me. Especially since my doctor told me to stop eating high cholesterol stuff. I had a muffin today; I usually don't eat breakfast though.
