Depends. If I'm flying east to Europe - red wine to sleep, then water.
If I'm flying west to Hong Kong - water then coffee.

Usually Sprite/Sierra Mist/7UP, etc. Most recently though, I had lost my water bottle in the terminal and didn't realize how dehydrated I was, so I got two cups of water, then asked for a 1-liter bottle of water, which she gave to me, after serving the filtered water to other guests, then refilling with tap water. (Not that I was angry or anything, I'm glad I got it). I don't think should would have given it to me if I had been able to fully speak, which I wasn't. "Could I have one of those big bhhhhot-cough-inhale-hottles of water?"

WEIRD though- EVERYONE around me got tomato juice. Every order I heard around me was either tomato juice or a bloody mary. Oprah must have said something good about eating tomatoes the day before.

a cup of ice, and a cup of hot water, if there's still a teabag in my purse.

otherwise, water and ice if they have small bottles, diet coke if they don't.
