1. Hercules Gullemot Xentor TNT2 = powering the k6-2 system in the basement, behind the pile of boxes 😀

2. PNY Geforce2 GTS = in parent's computer

3. Voodoo4 4500 = truly obsolete 🙁 My favorite card ever...resting in a static baggie

4. Ati Radeon 9000pro = died on me R.I.P.

5. MSI Geforce 5600 = hoping it will die on me....

i usually sell off my card and buy a new one before it becomes worthless. helps recoup the costs.

sell them on the FS/FT forum, the less fortunate will appreciate them greatly 🙂

always keep a PCI card for yourself, just incase your AGP (for those like me who still have them) slot takes a dump on u

I light them on fire and throw them into a canyon. Then, after burning a couple of acres the mercury residue off the silicon wafer boards used in producing these graphics cards will seep into the ground soil polluting both the nutrients of the ground and any ground water that happens to be nearby. Then, some helpless rabbit will drink that poisoned groundwater and yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup BANGO YOU GOT IT!?

Sold all my cards except for my Gainward GF3 Ti200 GS because no one wanted to pay more than $30 for it. It's still a great card for non DX9 gaming, so I gave it to my girlfriend. Now she can play games too.

sold 1st card (Voodoo3 3000) to an xchange shop.
2nd card (Geforce2 64Mb MX, replaced the Voodoo3) got blown up by lightening while i was on the puter.
3rd card (Geforce 2 64Mb Ultra given in the insurance replacement for lightening struck one) sold to xchange shop.
4th card (Geforece 4200Ti 64Mb replaced the GF2 Ultra) is currently residing in a baggie awaiting deportation to an online friend of mine in Canada who is skint.
5th card (Radeon 9800XT 256Mb in PC that replaced the PC the 4200Ti was in) still in use in PC it came with but being used by me mum.
6th card (Geforece 6800 GTO PCI-E that came with new Dell PC) is the current card i use.

so in summary.......sold, exploded, sold, deported, given, using 🙂

I'm a bit of a hoarder and seldom get rid of anything, not even to sell. I've got a spare AGP Matrox Millennium 450, an Intel 56k Modem, a PCI USB card, 4 mice, 3 crappy joypads, a 350w PSU, 4 spare fans, an SB AWE 32, a CDRW drive, a manky old PC I found on the street that I've just got working and my old K6-2 based PC which I'm grudingly about to give to my dad.

almost all of my video cards are sitting other computers...

Gainward ti 4200 - in my wifes computer
Gainward ti200 - My parents computer
MSI mmx400 - In a backup 3rd computer

I actually had to build my Mom a rig with a 9800Pro in it last summer - she wasn't happy with her old PC. Uru, is failry graphic intensive....

Back on topic. I generally have a few old vid cards floating around in drawers and whatnot in case I need one for something. As someone noted earlier, a crappy PCI card is useful to have laying around for times just incase you need it. I kinda equate a PCI video card to floppies in that repect - generally useless, but indispensible when you need them.

Most of the time when I upgrade, the old card goes to a friend (sometimes for a little bit of money, sometimes not). The funny thing, though is that usually through this upgrade path, these same cards come back to me again a few years later. Since, I will usually swap out a lesser card + cash (or not) for a superior card. Either that, or it goes into my fiance's machine, which I don't really see as being gone the same way as if I give it to a friend. I really want to keep her rig up to spec enough to not be a crappy gamier, so I can still play games with my current roommate at my place after I get married.

Just got a 6600GT, so I have an old GeForce3 Ti200 64Mb card sitting around. I generally just bag them up or put them in older systems that may want to play games. I like having a backup "just in case".

I take all my old parts and make old machines with them,

Really old Diamond 2 mb card blew up on me
Trident 2 Mb PCI card in my old Socket 7 machine (P-MMX 200mhz)
Diamond 3dfx Monster 3d - coupled with above Trident (2mb + 4mb = 6mb!!!)
Voodoo4 4500 went in a celery (700mhz?) machine I got for free
Visiontek Geforce2 Ti 64mb went into an athlon 2100+ machine - still plays games well
Sapphire Radeon 9600xt into another 2100+ machine

Currently using my Visiontek GF4Ti 4400 for my main rig (below). I know the 9600xt is better but I like the linux ability of this card more, and I only play DX8 games right now, anyway(GF4Ti owns DX8). Won't play a DX9 game until I get a card that can run it like a 6800GT/X800XT can.

I sell or hand me down
my 9700 Pro is in my friends PC
and my 9800 Pro is in my boss' PC 🙂

my old Ti4200 is in a guy who used to work with me's PC, and the rest of the video cards I still have.

Oh my voodoo3 3000 was sold in the FS forum. 🙂

Well I just trash my old video cards!

Now I did take a couple of old cpu's (the actual core) and make necklaces out of them. They are Sooooooo cool & shiny and everyone asks me about them.
Not going to say how I cut the cores out of the ceramic casing, but there ya' go 😉

All I can say is that they were cut & not broken out.
