I sold a game in FS/T and I could have sworn I had the box for the game. When I started to pack the item I realized the box could not be found. Come to find out my girlfriend had thrown out the box a few weeks ago.

Where do you put the boxes to your things? Do you fold them up? Throw them away?

I keep a lot of the boxes and listen to my parents complain about how much space they are taking up. If they were to get rid of them, they would hear it from me and they know it so they don't touch them.

I burn shipping boxes that are beyond reusing and I can always get boxes from work for shipping stuff.

I throw them out. Why keep the box? To sell it? Do you honestly think you'll get more for it if you sell it with the box? I can understand keeping boxes for hardware if you're intending to sell it later, but you can also buy a box for pennies later.

If I think I may resell the product or it's a specialty box (monitor, etc) I put it in the attic.

I keep mine in case I decide to sell stuff later. It's no big deal since I have room. And it's handy having all the static bags and what not around.

Yeha, but then some guy is gonna go "eh.. M4H had it. Better not take the box. And wipe off the CD when you get it."

Dude, if I'd known Chelsea was going to put them on there, I would never have lent you my pair. From now on, you get your own handcuffs.

Sometimes I keep them, sometimes they get tossed. Its really all based on luck and how I feel at the time of opening the item. Often times distance plays a big part in the decision. What do I mean you ask, well I usually choose the shortest distance to travel(so i can get back and play with my new toy quicker)so if the trash is closer then the storage area it goes in the trash(well not every time) and vice versa for storage. One other big factor is how full the trash is, if said box would cause an overflow, thus requiring the trash to be imeediately taken out, then the box stays.

Yes as you can see I am lazy, no just kidding. I really have no set standard, some I keep some I toss.

I toss them in my closet, which by sheer coincidence is now quite difficult to get open without making a mess.

LCD monitor box - or, items of a value greater than $400 or so, get placed up in the attic. Items that are of a value less than that amount, get pitched. No use in holding onto them.

If it's an item that is still under warranty, most times the manufacturer will "cross-ship" an item to you and you can just use their box to send the defective item back.

I throw out alot of them. Monitor boxes are used to go around the cat box. I really only keep about 1/4 of them. If I kept them all I'd have to have a much bigger garage.

My comic book collecting days have affected me. Lots of times I try to keep the boxes -- especially for my "prized possessions" like my AIW cards, motherboard boxes etc.

However, space forces me to eventually throw out some boxes.

What I hate is that I literally spend lots of time at the store trying to pick out the "best condition" box. If it has a ding in the corner, I try to pick out another box. But then I usually end up thowing the box away because it takes up too much space.

Boxes for software I rarely keep. Boxes for hardware I keep in our garage or the basement. But only for stuff that's worth anything like hard drives, monitors, etc. If the box is too big just break it down and put it under or behind other boxes.
