what do you do with surround speaker wires?

for those of you who live in apartments, what do you do with your surround sound wires? run them along the edge of the ceiling and wall, around the room? i was thinking about upgrading to 5.1 for movies, but i have no idea how'd i get the signal to the opposite wall without it being ugly as hell...

One option is to pull up the carpet at the baseboard and tuck the speaker cables between the baseboard and carpet tacking strip if your room layout permits it.

We have hardwood floors, so under the carpet isn't an option. I bought some white speaker cable and ran it along the baseboards of the room. The only wire you really see / notice is the one running up the wall to the speaker, but its white so it doesn't look too bad.

I personally am lazy. I run them along the baseboard and then get enough furnature in the room that you really don't notice them.

probably a repost, NIK!!!
Nah, he'll just say wrong forum
like this should go in here since you're "networking" the speakers to the receiver
My little Nik "wrong forum" rant.

Look at my sig. That thread was ORIGINALLY in Off-Topic before it got moved to Operating Systems.

my problem is that i have doors in both directions around the room. one side goes off to the bedroom/bathroom, and the other goes to my front door/kitchen area. at some point i'll have to go up and over those door frames.

i was wondering if anyone has used that cabling covering stuff that you see sometimes in school classrooms? it's pretty ugly, too, though... maybe just white speaker cable is the best i can do in my situation.
