dumb ass

MARCH 3--Angered that her local McDonald's was out of Chicken McNuggets, a Florida woman called 911 three times to report the fast food "emergency." Latreasa Goodman, 27, last Saturday called police to complain that a cashier--citing a McDonald's all sales are final policy--would not give her a refund. When cops responded to the restaurant, Goodman told them, "This is an emergency. If I would have known they didn't have McNuggets, I wouldn't have given my money, and now she wants to give me a McDouble, but I don't want one." Goodman noted, "I called 911 because I couldn't get a refund, and I wanted my McNuggets," according to the below Fort Pierce Police Department report. That logic, however, did not keep cops from citing Goodman for misusing the 911 system. Even after being issued a misdemeanor citation, Goodman contended, "this is an emergency, my McNuggets are an emergency."

UPDATE:911 call

Edit: why did the 911 operators even bother?.....I would have hung up within the first 2 minutes of that conversation.

While calling 911 wasn't the right thing to do, I'm kind of on the side of the defendant here.

McDonalds basically pulled a bait and switch and wouldn't refund her money. That's horseshit. She should have called the non-emergency police number.

Why wouldn't they give a refund if they didn't have the nuggets? that makes no sense. Of course you don't call 911, either McD corporate or BBB.

reminds me of this crazy bitch who called 911 over a cheeseburger.

Still, gotta agree with the "why don't they just refund her the money" crowd.. I ordered vaguely chicken-esque mc nuggets, not a goddamned mcdouble.

She's an idiot obviously, but why the hell wouldn't they give her a refund if they did not have the item she ordered? That makes no sense whatsoever.

My guess is that they tried to offer other alternatives she was being such a compelte and utter b!tch aabout not getting her McNuggets that they finally told her "Ya know what? No refund!" I seriously doubt they told her that up front

The original story is on PBPOST.COM...along with funny comments from the locals.

The lemonade 911 call also happened locally.

Sad part is people will expect 911 to help on BS stuff, yet not call when something warrants it.

I woulda called 911 and reported it as a robbery... McDonalds was robbing her of her money.

"All sales are final" wtf kinda bull is that.... Its bait and switch tactic and is quite illegal..

but yea stupid of them to not just give her a refund

They made the double cheesburger more expensive than a dollar, took a slice of cheese out, named it the mcdouble, and put that on the dollar menu instead.

I have had McDonald's pull this before. Normally if something is not 100% right, any normal FF store will give you your money back. Occasionally however, some clerk gets off on their little power trip and won't make things right. Had this happen to me at McDonalds in Kenosha WI. They put ketchup on my QP and would neither make it again or refund. I even spoke with the manager who was more of a tool than the cashier. I left saying it would cost them more in business than the $.50 they just saved.

Then I just drove back through and ordered lunch for a family of 10. When I got to the window, the cashier, holding 5 really huge bags of food for my "family" knew what was going on. The look on her face made it all worthwhile. Then I went to Taco Bell.

It's also a civil dispute.
