What do you do when a friend/relative dies?

All right, this is weird but I always buy myself a present. I have a drink and say that through this present I will remember them.

I think I started doing this when several relatives died and didnt even remember my name in their will and i was getting even but now I think its a nice thing to do and shows I thought more of them than they did of me or at least that I respected them. Works better for friends, thank goodness I havent had to do it too many times.

i usually think a lot. think about how close the person was to me, the times i've had, and then try to brush it off. we're only human and the only flaw about us is that we have emotions. I force myself to forget about the death and try not to halt myself with the situation but rather motivate myself to enjoy and take all aspects of life as i am blessed with the days i wake up in.

just my dos pesos on that :)

I go to his/her funeral and get sad.

It sucks when people die. I miss them. That's why I don't plan on dying, myself. I think I will just skip that part and go right on living.

OK, OK but any personal little rituals? Cant go to a funeral if you are 3000 miles away sometimes. Something you do by yourself.

Not really. Dying is a foregone conclusion, really. So I just accept it and go on. We are not meant to last forever.

Wow, that's cold. The last thing I'm thinking about when someone near and dear to me dies is if they left me a few grand to remember them by. I tend to honor them with the wonderful memories.

Usually I hope they don't feel the need to communicate with me beyond the grave... I hate it when dead people try to talk to me!

I take an item that reminds me of the person the most. Like a book or a cd, or whatever. I then somehow write there name on it, someplace that is hidden though. Like a random page in the book or something like that. I dunno sounds cheesy i guess.
