Up until I was probably a sophomore in high school, I spent most of my summers skateboarding at least five or six hours a day with all of my friends. Before I picked up skateboarding in 8th grade, I mostly played video games or goofed off with my neighbors (they were all in my class) playing hide and seek, basketball, tennis, whatever.
Sometimes if we were lucky, our parents took us on a vacation. We've been to the Black Hills, went over and kayaked through the Royal Gorge, visited the Southwest (AZ, NM), and even went to Disney World when I was a freshman in high school. Multitudes of other places I can't even remember...Ozarks, Minnesota, Wyoming... We didn't do vacations ALL of the time, though, because my brother is/was really emotionally unstable. He would lash out at me sometimes, and that caused my parents to keep us separated most of our lives.
Now, summer vacation for me means summer class and probably 40 hour work weeks. I sure do miss being a kid, sometimes.
