not necessarily. I do around 300-400 crunches/various abdominal exercises a few times a week (every day in season). Of course, I switch it up, and only do 50 of each position. Apparently bicycles are the best for abs.
 
my job keeps me in relative shape. any weight i gained over the weekend is gone monday night.
i could be in better shape if I ate better but I could certainly be much worse
