1) Drink a couple cups of coffee when I get in at 8am.
2) While doing 1), sit on internet, mostly AT forums for a good 30-45 min
3) Take many cig breaks
4) Hustle
5) Talk to friends and coworkers about who's going out to the bar tonight
6) Wander around with coworker, "helping him"
7) Take care of whatever quick/simple wiring needs that someone comes in and requests
8) Help coworker/roommate fix/mod his bro's Xbox
9) Make/take too many calls on my cell phone to see what's up for later
10) Assist coworkers with their circuit board building

Yeah... it's been pretty slow this week. I normally work 7 hours or more out of the 8

1. Sleep in since it's the summer & 6 year old is on holidays & hell I work from home
2. Download tab-delimited price file, run macro in excel to convert to proper format
3. Check site & update pricing with said file

9. Usual daily errands (snailmail, groceries)

1. Walk across street from high rise home to high rise work. Arrive 1.5hrs late nonetheless, due to oversleeping.
2. Logon, then get coffee, then review emails and organize inbox & calendar while coffee takes hold
3. Review project schedules and technicals, get updates on production drawing progress or issues
4. Walk home for lunch, play guitar, play with reason, reaktor, cubase, help wife with music production or web design, don't forget to eat
5. Get to the real work after lunch - create design options in sketchup or with pen/pencil on trace paper; create revisions, options and perspectives
6. Develop 3D models of design projects underway in sketchup, autocad, & 3dsMax
7. Output renderings, animations, colored plans & elevations, perspectives, etc for client and coworker consumption
8. Organize ideas for design presentation narratives, make bullet point lists of topics to cover, work up loose outline of presentation wording or scripting, take trip to wherever presentation, work session, or client meeting will occur - seems like never in my own town
9. Review and uncover marketing leads, develop proposals and proposal concept graphics, create/develop powerpoint presentations for RFPs or selection interviews
10. Go home 3 hours late.

Position: IT Director (but don't believe the title, it's misleading)

maintain the office pc's
update the student government website
monitor & backup the student forums
answer emails
answer phones
work with the IT peeps on new content
scout new ideas and tech
work on training classes for IT related stuff
help other executive staff with the tech side of their duties
work with professors to update their side of the forums

1. Drive to work, arrive ~10 min early
2. Talk with crews and supervisors, answer questions about jobs
3. Answer network requests aka job tickets (surf the web if it is a slow day)
4. Call customers, contractors, etc
5. Go to new job site and determine what is needed for customer (this happens several times per job)
6. Enter job into Management program
7. Import job to Design program
8. Design job and send it to Supervisors for Line Crew
9. Check on current jobs and finish paperwork on completed jobs
10. From 4-5 it's basically hangning around office and BSing with co-workers

Design Engineer (distribution) for a Power Company. So, if you build a new house and you want power, I'm the person who designs and coordinates that.
