What do you do if your Windows 2000 system couldn't move, copy, or paste ANYTHING at all!!!!

I really don't want to have to rebuild the system over again but it might come down to it. And by the way, my buttons
on IE would not work (form buttons for accessing emal) and I cannot upgrade back to IE 6 or any critical updates for that
matter.

Someone give me something here.

The commands would work under the dos prompt but will not work under the GUI.
