What do you do if Dell ships you a computer with a power supply unit that has a faulty fan?

they will ship you a new PS with a prepaid return label. replace it yourself and call up airborne to pick up the dead ps

Contact them and they should be willing to ship you a replacement and then you can send the defective one back.

if u dont mind me asking, how did u find out the fan was defective? Dell PC's are so quiet, i would have never thought to check the fans, but i will now 😉

My company just had over 500 Dell PCs arrive. Upon deployment, we found that one had a dead P/S. They did as the above says.

Yep... Dell's customer service totally rocks.

I bought a Canon S400, and it arrived DOA. Dell sent another one overnight air, and had airborne pick up the dead one a day later.

Nope, it's not the optical drive.

I'm just going to give back the whole computer. I'm not going to be able to figure this out on my own.

Dude. STFU and call Dell. Leave this crap out of AT.
