What do you do for your sinus/allergies?

Curious as to what works for others with allergies/sinus problems when summer changes to fall and the nose starts running, head aches, ect.

I take Benadryl but it makes me so drowsy, maybe looking for other alternatives.

What do you do?

I wish I could find something that helps me...my allergies have been off the hook this past week and are still with me. I am actually going to get some Quercetin after work today, been reading good things about it online and I'm going to see if it works for me. I don't like benadryl or anything like that.

sudafed or tylenol flu (half green half yellow pill).. those work best for me.. claritin and the other prescription allergy medication dont' work for me

I do two things; use a claritin knockoff (MUCH cheaper) to help with itchiness in my eyes, and Flonase for my nose. Flonase is a prescription spray, but it kicks ass. Before, being near a cat for less than an hour would set off my allergies for hourse and make me miserable. Now I have two kitties living with me since March with no problems whatsoever.

Yup, mine have been going crazy this last week or two. for the most part, I just get a partially clogged nose, but the worst is like a mild asthma attack. I have continuous shortage of breath.. its just really uncomfortable. I just got a Bonaire filtration system.. has two hepa filters in it, but that doesnt seem to help.. At least not yet.

Too lazy/cheap to buy drugs.

My son has sinus problems and he's currently on a combination of Benadry Allergy & Sinus and Pulmicort and Xoponex breathing treatments to keep his asthma from flaring up.

Flonase makes me light-headed. Bleah. Sudafed with an anti-histamine is good but I don't like being on Sudafed all the time (not good for the heart, IMO).

Some remedies in this thread.

Mine are gone now... they lasted 4 days.

Lucky SOB. Mine will continue for the next few weeks. I think this is week 2 so far. Claritin works to some extent, but not as great as I'd like. NOTE: Do not drink while taking Claritin. I had five and half beers and a Claritin over the course of 4-5 hours and it was the most drunk I have been in awhile.
