Post what you do for a living. Also, if you are so inclined, you can post what you make. Not for bragging rights, but so those that don't have jobs yet can see what a profession makes. Don't post your salary if you are concscious about it.

I work part time on a helpdesk (blech) and go to school for networking. I make $16/hr on the helpdesk. What I want to know is what techs that are in networking make?

ok, we can all tell what we do without getting into the salary boasts... those types of things get messy ;)

I am a field engineer for a communications company... I do diagnostic and trouble analysis on comm circuits (DS1, DS3, etc) as well as help install and test new systems and software.

Quitting my job at a major restaurant chain, finishing up school @ USC (BA Psychology) and will then be a Partner in my dad's business (Griswold Group) of life/health insurance / financial planning / real estate management. Kind of a far cry from my dreams of being a chef, but if I can do a fraction as well in the business as my dad does, well, let's just say financial security won't be a worry. :D

I teach 3-5yr old kids how to Ski and spend the rest of my free time snowboarding and drinking beer, and I just can't seem to stay away from here either. BTW: Yeah where did the $$ income thing come from? I mean I don't want to boast either but I do drive a Ford Escort Wagon (w/some nice studded hakkas) and had enough $$ left over from previous paycheck to buy more ramen and pb&J - dem stuff ain't cheap ya know.....

Ok you don't have to post your salary if you are self-conscious about it. I happen not to be.

gov. paid rent. like i rent it out to people who are low income/welfare recepients. guranteed to get my check each month, plus HUD (housing and urban development) keeps their asses in line (makes sure the yard is mowed, etc.)

seems to depend on where you live. from what ive heard if i didnt live in texas i wouldnt be doing it. all i have to do is give 10 days notice and they are gone. had to turn the gas off on some people the other day because they didnt put it in their name like they said and i got a bill. sent it to HUD and to her and told the gas co. to shut it off. dont mean to be an ass about it, but she had 30 days, tough poop. i mean she gets her entire rent taken care of, she could at least keep up with one phone call. she doesnt pay me the full invoice in 30 days her ass is out. from what i've heard there is no way i could do that in other puss states like mass. sometimes the only way to get something done is to be a hard ass :(

wyvern...

I don't see how not wanting to post your salary is being self-conscous. What does your income have to do with the job you have? I might share my income with someone who wanted to know how much someone that I do gets paid... but when you put it into the context of boasting about it... then it really becomes a pissing match that noone can win.

Let me put it another way... whenever people all start posting what they make, folks just start making exaggerated claims... pretty soon the kid who works at burger king is a network consulting making $150K and driving a porsche... kind of gets in the way of the discussion.

You are the only one making a big deal about this. Why don't you just shut up? I said post only if you feel comfortable. OBVIOUSLY, those that do not feel comfortable haven't posted it.

I make $9 + tips at my current job, getting a PDA (signing bonus) + $12 hour when I start my new job next month.. nothing to brag about until I become a full partner. I'll spare the details lest I give someone a heart attack..it's a lot of money. :D

My apology, I didn't see your post requesting people put their salary down.

It's still pretty childish, but since you want to know, I earn $92K.

See that wasn't so hard was it? And I couldn't give a rat's ass that you make 3x what I make. See?
