What do you do for a living?

Hook 'em Horns!

I'm a lowlife. I don't do anything and yet still recieve a paycheck. (No, I am NOT on welfare)

Full time temp with a nationally accredited accounting agency, and the same with a temp office staffing agency, at least until I can find my full time dream job: Payroll Processor for a large corporation, making some bigger bucks🙂 -kd5-

I'm employed by Boeing but I don't start the real work till I get home and have to chase my 20 month old Son around. 🙂

Technically I'm a developer, really though I get paid to surf the net and spend hours a day refreshing amihotornot.com or talking to my friends on msn.

Any tips for a 17yo kid that knows more than the average bear w/ computers? I NEED MONEYS! I want to do nothing like the rest of you 🙂 Otherwise I'm gonna start putting in applications for the nearest supermarkets and my computer knowledge wont be put to use and I will be underpaid 🙁.

Web design.

Soon to be a graduate student. I'll be getting my master's in education in order to be an elementary school teacher.

😀

To you 17 year olds, two words:

Tech support.

I started at just over $11 an hour when I was 17. Not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but more than sufficient for a 17 year old who's probably living at home.

The beauty of tech support is nobody cares how old you are.

Viper GTS

Director of IT for a global software developer.

Im with Viper on this one... In phone tech support no one can see your acne :]

I third Viper on that one. Too many people just want to jump into the field and become some manager or director. That's not going to happen. I too started in Tech Support and worked my way up the food chain. Now I am the IT Manager and Net Admin for the main sales and marketing office of a Fortune 500 company.
