my brother usually has his laptop, so we use it. or i watch an inflight movie if its an international flight. or ill just sleep.

domestically, ill bring book, my ipod, or my gameboy advance SP to play.

if its really short, ill just sit there, read, and sleep.

I usually sleep. I bring other stuff around, but I'm generally so tired by the time I get on the plane that I sleep for at least part of it. I used to bring my laptop to play games on, but now I'd got a PDA that I read books with.

Actually, a PDA would not be a bad idea. I was actually thinking of getting one. Originally, I wanted to get the DS Lite to play the Sudoku games. I tried reading the Sky Mall magazines they have, but I go through them in less than 10 minutes.

The flights I go on I can usually start/stop movies whenever I want, and so I just watch movies. Otherwise, there's at least 10 channels worth of movies for me to watch.

Then I go to sleep. Then again since I usually take midnight flights to Asia, I fall asleep after a movie and then bam... 10 hrs of sleep. Hey that's even more than I get back at home =P. I have slept all the way (except for food and half of a movie) on the way back from Asia once, and it killed me with jetlag.

whenever i am on the plane, i get real sleepy... i think it's because of the low oxygen level

3 hours? That's not long. I'd just sleep. If I wasn't tired, read a book. That flight would be over in no time.

Long is 10+ hours in my book. Do a 14 hour flight and then lets talk long... :)

I got lucky. My mother used to put me on the floor of the plane on long trips so that I could sleep. Almost all my memories of flying as a kid are of sleeping. Nowadays, on short flights, I fall asleep before the plane takes off and I wake up as or after we've landed.

To me a long flight is 2 hours....JI was on a flight last december and I just can't seem to keep myself still in airplane. I ALWAYS want to strech out and walk around...its difficult for me to focus. So I just stare outside or pretend to sleep while shuffling my feet. ironically i can study like 6 hours straight if i have to

Guys, can you recommend any good remedy for motion sickness? I have to fly for 11 hours in July, but really hate flying due to always getting motion sickness.

thanks.

You can take the pills... or suck on some hard ginger candy. The candy works for some reason.

Read or listen to music. Get some nice earbuds or noise cancelers and a good book and the time goes by in no time. You can also sleep it through

I fly long distance flights frequently. Usually 4+ roundtrip transpacific flights per year, with additional legs once I get to Asia. We're talking 14+ hours each route, so 3+ hours would be considered a short flight for me. Even LAX to JFK takes longer than 3 hours.

I'm usually asleep before the flight takes off. If I'm really tired, I usually sleep through the entire flight, but awake in time for the breakfast meal (2nd meal). But I'm usually awake only for the 2 meals I'm served, and rest of the time I'm sleeping.

Invest in a good noise-canceling headphone like Sennheiser PXC250. I never travel without it, and I always make sure the batteries are fully charged before each trip. I put the headphone on, turn on the power, turn on my Ipod Nano, and that's what helps me to sleep through the entire flight.

I will only fly Cathay Pacific or EVA (upgrade to Business using my FF), and both airlines have good personal TVs with good selection of movies. But I only watch those while I'm eating my meals.

Flight attendants in both Cathay and EVA are gorgeous!

Bonine and Dramamine, they are both effective against motion sickness. If the flight is 11 hours and you're that worried, then I suggest you get hold of Ambien or valium. I don't get any kind of motion sickness, but couple of friends swear by it. Ambien is effective for 7 to 8 hours, and you will wake up feeling like million bucks.
