What do you do as soon as you format your harddrive?

After installing Win2K, I like to run chkdsk and then defrag. (Just force of habbit--probably doesn't do any good).

Then, restart and install SP2, 4in1 drivers, Detonators, et al.

After I FDISK my drive and format, I take it out of my case and start juggling it.

that my freash install will go well and all my components will get along.
This has never worked, but I'm afraid of what will happen if I don't.

I start to fill them up with all my file that I want to store in those new formatted drive

Before that I also rename the drive from local disk to something else.

Try to remember why I reformatted my HDD

i install dos 6.2 and have my big hard drive formatted to nothing more than 2gb.

xcopy d:\i386 c:\i386 /E

then I run c:\i386\winnt.exe

Bang my head because I lost a lot of info on my D: partition which I dont backup. But if its just C:, then I install an os.
