my toilet has been having this problem for a while where it sort of "regurgitates" stuff. The water is clear immediately after I take a crap and flush it, but almost always when go back later to take care of some business, there are some fragments of crap floating around in it.

is there a solution for this?

A little to much info. Just in case this is a serious question, try increasing the water level in the tank. You could also try snaking out the toilet to make sure the flow is not obstructed. If that doesn't work, you probably have something living in the toilet and it is just throwing the sh!+ back at you.:)

Probably the stack vent is clogged. Something probably made a nest in there.

rotorooter does this kinda stuff.

Unless you're getting some pressure out of your sewage lines. This would be a bigger problem.

Is this a newer toilet?

Nearly all of the newer 1.5 gallon per flush toilets have problems clearing the bowl. Might be 1.6 gallon as I'm not in the "business". Pun intended.

It's a common problem and there is no solution other than a double flush.

I get my water through a well and have to go in and swab out the tanks on the toilets about once a year. It's amazing how much sediment collects in them. The symptoms sound exactly like what you may be experiencing.

Hmm as an afterthought,I poop, flush, then wipe/flush again,so as not to plug the toilet,
AND help keep the "odor" much less.

Some people call that a "courtesy" flush.

Do you rent or own? If you rent, take it up with maintenance, if you own, snake it out, if that doesn't do it you can always remove the whole toilet and and remove any "build up" from the underside, that should do the trick.

OK, I find it kind of odd that this hasn't been recommened yet. However, when you are done using the toilet, ensure that you hold down the flush level for about 15 seconds when you flush the toilet. Just tapping the lever and leaving the bathroom means that only part of the water in the tank is being utilized to flush the toilet. When not enough water is provided during the flush, symptoms like you've described are very common. Just try holding the flush lever done for a longer period of time, I'm pretty sure this will resolve the issue you've described.
