One real control freaks would be like a GF or BF, where... they tell you what time u gotta be home, what to eat, how many times u can go to bars.. or clubs..
how many times can you McDonald's a week... probably warns ya for exceeding the quota..

Yeah.. I dated one gal like that, never lasted even for 2 months before I called it quits

Well, my parents weren't, so...

Doessn't the word "freak" imply an abnormal condition? If so, there is no way that parents "by definition" could be control freaks, since they constitute a large percentage of the population.
