what do you consider to be the most "essential" iPod accessories?

I've had an iPod for about 4 years now, and I've still never purchased anything for it. I suppose a case is a good idea, but the best thing you can get for an iPod is a set of quality headphones.

A RoadTrip! They're way better than iTrips as far as quality goes and whatnot. Also, it auto-charges your iPod since it hooks into the cig lighter.

Good case: check out corecases, slim design
Good earphones: e2c's for budget + quality

nothing else is really essential.

essential:
1) headphones
2) case
3) speaker system if you work in an area that allows music through speakers

i use the JBL SoundStage when i work in the chemistry lab. when i'm at my desk, i'll just use headphones.

monster car kit - charges your ipod and is an fm transmitter, unfortunately they're quite expensive
case - rubber, felt, plastic, leather...your choice
speakers - if you wish to play it at home/on the road without needing your computer/laptop

my speakers are just connected to the ones we have in the basement, case is a black felt one from radtech.us, and the car kit my brother has when he comes home on the weekends...i just use the sony tape adapter for my needs.

Cassette car adapter, car charger, and a Belkin TuneDoc for car use.

Some external speakers and a protective skin would be a good idea, too.
