me and this guy who drives a new V6 accord from my group were headed to a restaurant after a dance and at a stoplight on an empty road, I was like let's go. And he's like we'll see, and when were both rolling at around 20 he's like "go" and we run it to around 60 or so.

He pulled away from me pretty easily, but it's not like he ran away from me as if I was standing still. I'm taking into consideration that my car is pretty slow to begin with and he told me he floored it.

I was kind of disappointed cause I wanted a V6 accord coupe but it doesn't seem fast enough now. They run 15-15.5 stock. I drive a corolla, which supposedly does about 16.5-17, I've never ran my car at a track tho.

I guess I'll stick to my prior idea of getting a 3000gt vr4 and modding it then. :D

I've always considered chicks wearing miniskirts and no undies to be fast. Oh, wait. You're talking about cars. Sorry.

Speed is relative to what your doing... listening to a good song, I could be driving 5 mph, and it would seem faster...

"Fast" is anything above 100mph at the end of the 1/4 for me...
"Quick" is 13s/low 14s in the 1/4.

With those stats you'll beat pretty much 90% of the cars on the road. A V6 Accord does not run 15.0 in the quarter, it's ricer's dreaming again... C/D lists 16.0 sec @ 88 mph (prev gen Accord V6 LX). That 88 tells a lot... it really is weak. The new EX V6 comes in at 15.5 @ 92. Much better as it's got some pop, but compare it to a Maxima with its 14.7@97. The TL TypeS is 14.8@96... pretty much a dead heat in quickness.

From a stop to 60, it's hard for a Honda to really pull on you, their powerband and lack of traction limit them. A 3S VR4 or other AWD car (WRX, DSM, Audi) can RIP you out of the hole since they don't have a problem with traction. So your plan to buy a barge and mod it... go fer it! :) Just go to 3si.org to get the lowdown.

Accords are not very fast, V6 or no.

Anything that is made by Nissan is fast. ANYTHING.

The new V6 Accords are on par with the V6 Altimas....if not a little slower. And I wasn't aware Frontiers or XTerras were fast, supercharged or not. Or base Sentras.

You obviously haven't seen the things Nissan tries to pass off as cars in Europe.

Which model accord? The 6th gen v6 are like 16 high stock, the 7th gen 240hp might be faster, but I haven't seen any numbers on it (it does however have a manual option)

My mom used to have a '97 Nissan Maxima GLE and I always thought it was fast, responsive too. But I'm in no way a car enthusiast.

I agree with the powerband, Hondas are built to make their power higher up in the RPM range, both torque and HP, but it is ridiculous to say traction limits an accord. They are FWD, they have the engine basically right on top of the wheels, even with an exceptional torque brake (on autos) you get very limited peel out, and it certainly wouldn't qualify as poor traction...

Would you care to explain the 2.4 60' times they always seem to run? Those cars always launch like crap.

0-60 in 6 is what I consider pretty fast.

0-60 in under 4 IS FAST.

because you have to wind the crap out of them to make any decent power. 8000 RPM launches are possable, but you betetr be on a first name basis with your parts man.

Yeah. Crazy I DO NOT want to have to launch a car at 8000 RPM to get decent power. Don't mind getting higher RPM later though, just don't want to launch at that crazy rev's.

My car does 0-60 in 5 sec and low 13s with street tires in 1/4 mile. But it isn't fast enough for me.
