What do you charge for website design and updating?

A non-profit type organization is asking for their site to be completely redesigned from the ground up based on their new logo and color scheme. Also invloved in this will be a name change for the organization as well as a new domain name. Of course, this means going through every part of the old site and updating all old references and links to the old name/domain. They would also like a message board set up.

Here's my question...How much do I charge? I'm not a designer my any stretch. I'm more of a behind the scenes coder. But I can try to tackle the design element if it's not too complicated.

Any ideas? Are there base prices to go from? I'm tempted to tell them no, just because of the potential work involved. This will be my first major freelance project. But the money would be nice.

Thanks.

Freelance designers actually charge quite a bit of money now, but I understand you might not want to put them off by too high of a price but upwards of $250 maybe?

I agree. People who do this for a living and already have an established portfolio would charge quite a bit. I want more of a good starting price for myself that doesn't cause me to get under-paid and them get jipped.
