Most of my PVR's drive is eaten up by movies. I'm LOVING the Starz Superpack. We used to have HBO and couldn't stand it. Yeah, the shows were occasionally pretty good (still don't see what the big deal is though - if I'm paying extra for a 'premium' channel I don't want shows, I got million other channels for that.) But HBO's movie selection sucks. We wanted movies and switched to Starz and it's been about 50 times better for our tastes.
The only problem now is getting all those movies off the drive. Fortunately, my S-VHS VCR is going to come in handy again as I'm in the process now of transferring a lot of them off the PVR to S-VHS without much loss in picture quality.

Ok, so not every UPN show is awful. I should have excluded the ST series.Originally posted by: Queasy

You should also archive episodes of the original Star Trek, Star Trek:TNG, DS9, Voyager, and Enterprise so you can show how to take a premise, ruin it, and then run it into the ground.

Geez, and I thought I watched too much TV. When do you guys get time to watch all that stuff?
I'm kind of the same way. I watch in spurts which means my drive gets backed up. All those movies have 50+ hours of my 60 hour DishPVR nearly full.Originally posted by: Queasy

I usually come close to filling up my PVR (only a 40 hour). I still have a ton of shows recorded but unwatched. I watch a bit at a time mainly when I am playing with my infant son or letting him sleep on my chest.
I'm still a couple years away from being an elitist. We were POSSIBLY going to buy an HDTV later this year, but our main TV died on us last year so I couldn't justify spending over $1,700 on a TV at that time. So we bought another 32" SDTV to hold us for the next couple years until prices drop further. I really can't complain about it too much though. After switching from cable to Dish Network the significant increase in picture quality is enough to keep us happy for a good long while.Originally posted by: Amused

I stopped recording movies when I switched out my last common area TV for HDTV (the only standard TVs in the house now are in the guestrooms and garage). Now I buy DVDs or watch movies in HD. I can't stand watching movies in SDTV anymore.

The new ReplayTVs can be networked and you can also download episodes to your PC to burn onto SVCD, etc.Originally posted by: MattCo
Forgive me for the hijack but...
Does anyone make a PVR that can be networked with other PVRs? I would like to get two (one for my bedroom and one for the living room) but what if I record a show on one and want to watch it on the other? If you could connect the two and "share" it would be ideal.

Anyways, does anyone have any reviews of these units, etc? I'd like to pick one up, but I don't know much of anything about them.
