I don't have a girlfriend now, but I'd call them Ms (first name) and Mr (first name).

It's a southern thing.

Agreed, until you know them well enough to call them something else, or if they specifically ask.

I use her first name, but call them Mr./Mrs. Whatever and they will say "Call me _________" if they want you to call them anything else.

I just use their names.Forget "rules". I even call my dad and mom by their name unless speaking about them or mentioning them. I'll say "my dad" but when I call him, I'll say "mike"

Whe I was growing up, calling an adult by his/her first name was a sure fire way to get your a$$ cut.

I quickly got into the habit of it and still use it about everyday even though I am 36 now. I use it mainly to people older than me or in business.

Panto and Sarah (sometimes mom). I've know them as my third set of parents since 1978. My aunt and uncle were my second set of parents since they raised me part of my life. I guess that's more information than you needed to know. Sorry.

Hmm... Until now, it's never hit me, that in the year and a half I've known my g/f I've never called either of her parents anything... I've talked to them tons, just never have actually had to refer to them as anything to their faces...

I suppose if I had to though, it would be their first names

that's about how I am will all elderly (+50) people, unless the person who introduces me to them uses their first name in the introduction or if we're coworkers (not that anyone in my company is over 40).

No gf, but for all friends parents it's Father: Mr. (last name), Mother: Mrs. (last name). I let them tell me repeatedly to call them by there first names before I do so, even if they introduce themselves by first names.

For additional respect, I'd go with "Sir" most of the time with the father of a gf.

Mr./Mrs. <last name> if you are boyfriend/girlfriend

I call my wife's mother "Mom" and her dad "Red". That's because that's what everyone calls him. (he has red hair)

I call the father Mr. (last name) the mother... we speak quite often, but i have never used her name.

He calls my parents Frank/Madeleine.

but my parents are sooooo different to his.

My girlfriends parents are divorced, but her mother kept her former husbands last name... So do I say Mrs, Miss, or Ms? lol
