Hey I am thinking of gettering a 1gig AXIA and a Epox 8KTA3 mobo and trying for at least 1.2 or maybe 1.3. I ain't gonna even try for 1.4 even though it might hit it I don't want to over do it.

Anyway my main question is will my Alpha PEP66 work on this mobo to cool it off? I am using a copper shim so I do not think it will crack the core. Question is will it fit on a Epox? I have been cooling my Duron for well over a year and it on a A7V.

Should I just trade the PEP66 for another cool like the Alpha PAL? What do you all recommend?
 
i have an answer to your question, and also a comment on your system.

first of all, even though it probably would work on the epox, i recommend you pick up a new hsf. (um, you are talking about heatsink/fans, right?) i think you should get a good quiet one, like one from Tai Sol.

Also, I recommend instead of the 8kta3, you get the 8k7a. it is, in my opinion, a much better board, and recommend by more people on anandtech.
 
Well I ain't ready to go DDR right now. Plus I was offered the mobo and a 1gig AXIA for $165 shipped brand new which I think is a good deal.
