Hey everyone. This is my first Athlon64 setup. My other computer died on me (its been down for a week) and i'm not going through withdrawal (literally :( ). So because i cannot fix the problem with my other system, i have decided to scrap it and build an entirely new system from the ground up. I am only using 3 parts from my old system. The hard drives (Seagate 160GB SATA, 40GB WD, 80GB Maxtor), my sound card (SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Platinum) and my dvd burner (NEC ND-3500A). These are the parts that i've chosen (i've already ordered them):

AMD Athlon64 3800+
Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI
1GB Dual Channel (512MBx2) OCZ DDR PC3200
BFG GeForce 6800GT OC PCIe
250GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.8
Enermax EG701AX Noisetaker 600W PSU
Cooler Master CM-Stacker Case (Silver)
Cooler Master Cross Flow Fan
Cooler Master 4-in-3 Device Module
Thermaltake K450 (CL-P0075) CPU Cooler

I ordered all of the parts from zipzoomfly.com except for the memory, which i got from newegg.com. The reason i ordered from zipzoomfly.com is because you get free 2nd day shipping on mostlly everything (i had to pay shipping on the case). I try not to buy from newegg because i have to pay state sales tax :( (i live in TN, we have to pay taxes). But overall, i hope this system turns out as good as i'm expecting, maybe even better than i'm hoping for.

Why the 3800? Kind of a waste of money if you ask me when the 3000 and 3200 chips oc so easily.

Well, i chose the 3800+ because i "originally" was going to go with the 4000+. Thats until i saw one of the reviews of the 4000+ here on Anandtech. I noticed that the 1MB L2 cache didn't improve performance enough to justify spending almost $200 more for the 4000+ so i chose the 3800+. Also, i never even considered the 3000+ or 3200+. I did think about the 3500+ though, but i don't really plan on overclocking this system either. I just want the performance to be there when i need it. I can't help it, i'm lazy lol.
