Said watch ...

I really like the style of Movado watches but I cannot afford a watch that is that expensive right now. This Fossil looks similar to Movado in the style.

If you like that style or similar to Movado, do you have any other recommendations? I am looking to spend no more than $100 on it. I'm going to go to the mall tomorrow and check some out. Thanks.

Clean and classy looking. I don't like the rectangle shape though. kenneth Cole also has some nice looking watches for that price.

interesting ... i'll have to check out Kenneth Cole website or just in the store before I decide.

I am going for the retangular shape now instead of the round one just becase to me it looks a little more classy. I had a silver, round fossil when I was younger and for some reason, the rectangle to me looks a little more classy and professional.

I'll check out the kenneth cole website though, thanks.

Look into Skagen watches, they have a similar style without the similar tag of movado watches. A hundred dollar price tag is easily obtainable.

I got an $85 Fossil about five years ago and wore it just about every day. It had a stainless steel back, and the case was made of whatever silver metal (not titanium and apparently not stainless). After about two years it seems that my skin/sweat ate away at the siver parts of the case leaving it heavily pitted and exposing some brass-colored metal underneath. When the battery died, I put it in a drawer and donated it to the Salvation Army or something.

My girlfriend later bought me an anodized aluminum Swatch. It didn't rot away, but the plastic crystal scratched easily and the band kept breaking.

She then bought me one of these Seiko chronographs that could only be gotten from Japan (at least at the time). It's survived very well for over two years.

Six months ago, I received a titanium Swiss Army watch. It's light and thin, and the Ti-oxide doesn't scratch off like I thought it would. It's got that center release that makes the band smoother, but the center clip has sharp edges and they dig into me. I actually wear it less because it's uncomfortable.

Based on my experience with one Fossil and three other (admittedly more expensive) brands, I wouldn't buy a Fossil again... unless you plan to chunk it in a few years.

I do plan on only having it for a few years or so. I would like to get a Movado down the road when I'm making more $$ than I am now and when spending $800 on a watch won't be taking more than 50% of my paycheck lol (after taxes)

I also have had a fossil, and I wore it every day for a couple years as well. It just stopped working a few years later and that was the end of that. I Just haven't gotten around to a new watch since then.

I like fossil watches, they look nice and last a while for the price. I bought the old gf womens version like that and she liked but it was hard to tell exactly what time it was.

I have a similar looking one, but made by Kenneth Cole... It's great for business casual attire
