What Do You 14 Year Olds Want For Christmas?

Got my wife and older son all dialed in, but no clue what to do for my 14 year old. He's got PS2, Xbox and Game Boy at his disposal, but the PS2 gets the most use for some reason. Diablo and Warcraft have seen a lot of use on his shaky PC. I guess that could use an upgrade, but I haven't heard any complaining about it. We went with the consoles to get off the upgrade merry-go-round, and have succeeded pretty well so far.

He got a kick out of shooting with his brother's digital camera, but my wife would flip if I suggested buying a third! He's got a CD based, TDK MP3 player, which is rarely used. An RC vehicle might be good, but last time I checked, it would be close to $500 for the truck, radio and other paraphernalia. Got him a 19" TV for his bedroom last year, so that's covered. Man, I'm stumped! 😕
 
How bout' a nice watch from Fossil or something.

Or maybe the latests games for his consoles? (GTA: San Andreas. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Halo, etc.)

Get him a basketball hoop for the driveway maybe? Keep him active and not glued to the screen!
 
iPods used to be cool. Only the few select geeks had 'em. Now everyone has one, and they've worn off. I guess every 14 year old girl has a mini.

I guess an MP3 player would be OK if he'd use it. Yikes, he better use it at those prices!

Maybe you can try getting him something like a motor scooter, or a dirt bike, kids in my neighborhood ride them all the time and their about ~14. If you live in a decent neighborhood where you could ride one of those around.

Dude, I hate to say it, but it seems that you've spoiled the fvck out of this kid. I'm 16 and I don't have all the stuff he does (not even half) and my dad is a lawyer. Get him a basketball hoop and send him outside.
 
I'd get him some things for his room like bean bags, maybe a desk, nice speakers and receiver possibly

Also, depending on where you live, he could start learning to drive when he is 15 so keep that in mind when buying large things for him 😛
 
He's got a basketball hoop, is currently in wrestling, and just finished football season. He's got a helluva lot more crap than I did, that's for sure. But, he's a joy to be around, NEVER talks back, and deserves what he's got.

Just remembered that we gave his bicycle to his cousin, because he outgrew it. He certainly didn't ride it much, if at all, but every kid should have their own bike... (might that be the answer?)


Edit: There's no place around here to ride minibikes and what not.

Good call on the receiver. His current alarm clock/radio is a POS, so that's a winner.
 
try the RC car
a basic Tamiya type RC car and radio shouldnt be too expensive. a few (or maybe several, not sure) years ago i put one together for a grand total of under $200, so its nowhere near the $500 you were thinking. this is an electric car btw, and they may have gotten a bit more expensive (no idea), but they should still be a lot less than you were thinking.
 
Get him World of Warcraft collector's edition if you can get your hands on that 😛 If not, just get him regular World of Warcraft + a few months subscription 😛
 
wow, im jealous. i dont have most of the things you listed. of course my dad is slightly anti video games, but other than that, hes wouldnt care if i had any of those things, he just wouldnt buy them for me.
