Before anyone says it, I have a Dr. Appt schedueled for monday, just trying to see if anyone here has heard of this before...

I was walking about 3-4 weeks ago and my left foot kind of rolled over on itself, with the outside edge of my foot going under the rest of my foot partways.... (hard to describe, think of resting your left foot on its outside edge and rolling over it)

When i rolled over, it made a popping noise... Sounded like i just cracked a knuckle... No biggie, it didnt hurt so i didnt worry... Well later that night and for the next few days it got sore, but my doctor couldn't see me till the following week. When the next week came around, it didnt hurt that much anymore so i cancelled the appt and fergot about it.

Well now, 3-4 weeks later, it still kinda hurts. If i wear shoes (which i rarely do, im in sandals 80% of the time) i notice that the buldging part of the outside of my left foot is tender (the part just below your pinky toe). It also kinda hurts when i stretch my pinky toe or bend it over in the same fashon i rolled it...

Bone bruise possibly?

UPDATE:

Just got back from the Doc, he gave me a referral to see an Orthepedic Surgeon and have Xrays done this week... He said my left ankle is noticably swollen (something i didnt even notice). He's worried i may have damaged some ligaments? (i think)

UPDATE #2:

Just got back from the Ortho. Checked the x-rays, nothing is broken (thankfully), but i tore the ligament that runs between my 4th and 5th metatarcal and i have a bone bruise on the left side of my foot. He put me in a walking cast (i.e. Boot) for the next 6-8 weeks... Just hope it will be healed before i leave for england the end of june.

Do you write lines of code? Most of the software people I know wear sandals.

Kidding aside, sounds like strained muscles or torn ligaments.

Ya - its just a torn/stretched/sprained muscle/ligament. It will take a looooong time to fully heal. I've done it a couple of times while playing sports on uneven grounds...

Human feet have sooo many bones. Some are tiny and might not cause terrible pain.
My guess is you fractured a small bone.
