most of the problems relating to the CUSL2 are BIOS based issues that can be cleared with a bios update. unfortunately ASUS has been slow in providing them, however they have been on caffinated high for a while working on the problem. minor probs like temperature readouts, agp 4x, and floppy issues are frustrating, but usually if you know what you're doing you can stomp these bugs yourself.
there are numerous beta bios releases which can clear up these problems- or create more. asus has been releaseing them quite recently and numerously, you can try these out but i'd suggest you know exactly what you're doing before trying that out.
you have to expect these issues with a new chipset though, the i815 isn't going to sweep in flawlessly, after all the old chipset we all know and love has taken quite a few years to get to the point it's at now. i think asus did an awesome job and the features i've gained on the mobo heavily outweigh the minor bugs. try finding something new that doesn't have any minor quirks
