Then your own experience says that it is good right? Most would probably agree, but then the CUSL2 has numerous quirks that make life very troublesome for a lot of people.

If you get no display after updating to the new 1002 BIOS, you'll know what I mean.

Well absoloutely the best MB I ever had. O/C voltage also dropped a bit for me. The 800 Mhz mark I wanted to reach with my ASUS P3C2000 was impossible. But with CUSL2, like a dream. No problems what so ever. OK then, the CPU celcius seems a bit low (18 C) with Golden Orb. But aside from just a great MB.

Cheers,

most of the problems relating to the CUSL2 are BIOS based issues that can be cleared with a bios update. unfortunately ASUS has been slow in providing them, however they have been on caffinated high for a while working on the problem. minor probs like temperature readouts, agp 4x, and floppy issues are frustrating, but usually if you know what you're doing you can stomp these bugs yourself.

there are numerous beta bios releases which can clear up these problems- or create more. asus has been releaseing them quite recently and numerously, you can try these out but i'd suggest you know exactly what you're doing before trying that out.

you have to expect these issues with a new chipset though, the i815 isn't going to sweep in flawlessly, after all the old chipset we all know and love has taken quite a few years to get to the point it's at now. i think asus did an awesome job and the features i've gained on the mobo heavily outweigh the minor bugs. try finding something new that doesn't have any minor quirks ;)

Anyone tried using the Hard Drive Tach to see the output of the i815 controller?
