What do we think of Dr.Fone for Rooting?

I'm looking to root a ZTE Z835 Maven, but I know little about this kind of task and other methods look too involved.

I need simple.

I haven't rooted in ages. So am rusty. Typically for this I would check XDA experts for advice. Dr Fone doesn't sound popular there, not sure how trustworthy the app is. Magisk is a tool I think is more trusted. And XDA has a thread on how to root the XTE Z835 Maven.

Just curious, what is the motivation to root the device? Be sure to be aware of some of the potential downsides of rooting, primarily that it could break some apps.
