Check the Overclockers Database (try later...DB link apparently down at the moment)

Is that a mobile or desktop version? Sorry I don't know how to tell from the codes.

If it's a desktop Barton, then it's obviously locked and can be OC'ed only by increasing the FSB.

Either way, it should OC fairly well, and you could probably get at least 2.2Ghz out of it if your board and RAM can handle it.

Careful...just because it's a desktop doesn't mean it's locked. I have a desktop barton with an unlocked multiplier. My 2500+ barton runs great with a multiplier of 13 instead of the stock 11.

Uhh, his chip was made during Production Week 12 of 2004 according to the code he provided in the original post. ALL desktop Barton chips came locked from the factory after about Production Week 37-39 of last year (2003). Since his was produced about 4 or 5 months after that, I know without a doubt that his is locked.

If your desktop 2500+ is unlocked, then it was produced before AMD started locking them in the factory.

If it's a desktop:

Decent stepping. It's multi locked. Expect 180-200MHz FSB OC. Anything over that is gravy.

If it's a mobile:

Is there a bad mobile stepping? I haven't ever seen one NOT do atleast 200MHz FSB@2.2Ghz. If you have a mobile, rejoice and start OCing!
