I bought glasses from Lenscrafters and it says 51-19 on the frame. I then exchanged the frame a week later because I wanted to look more cooler. I noticed that this new frame is marked 49-18. Someone, please shine some light on this matter.

Sh1t dude. That's the cool factor number. You unfortunately bought frames with a lower cool factor. :(

haha

no...the 5119 is the size. 51 is the length of the lens size, in millimeter, and 19, is the size of the bridge

Damn, why did I go lower. Now I'm not as cool as before. I wonder if they'll allow me exchange one more time.

I've had two other pairs of glasses before that had the same numbers. They were bought years apart and of a different brand. I always thought they had something to do with the prescription.

AA/BB

AA = the width of one side of the frame/lens
BB = distance of the gap on the middle part of the frame(where your nose sits)

pretty sure that's it, and the number in mm
