Hello,

I wanted to know what do lifecycles of potentiometers mean?
Do they mean that if for an example a joystick has pots rated to 2,000,000 cycles, after 2 million cycles it will stop working?

Thanks.

I think it means that it is guaranteed for 2 million cycles. It might go longer, but I don't think it would stop working on your 2,000,001 cycle.

Assuming you not being too abusive, you shift the joystick 1 time per second for 24 hours continuously. At this rate you will reach the 2 million cycle mark after 23 days. :p

Doesn't mean it's guaranteed for a specific cycle count, but that the parts in question are "rated" for a certain cycle count or as I prefer to call it.... range.
