What do I say in my Email when applying for jobs online?

I'm applying for some jobs through EMail right now, and I am stuck as to what to put in the EMail. I am attaching my cover letter/resume, so what should I say in the email?

easy: just say what you are willing to do for the company. what's the best about yourself, etc etc. Have you nevered kissed up to anyone before? Just say what you want to say about getting a job. It shouldn't be hard.
