What do I want to install on my SSD? Thus far, I have some games and apps (office, photoshop) installed directly on to the SSD. Is this a mistake? I also have a raptor drive, but it makes so much noise, I didnt want to use it really!!

The drive is now over half full. I will have to install future games to the raptor I guess.

Did I make a mistake to install any apps to the SSD? Or is it fine so long as I am not constantly installing/uninstalling?

What size did you buy? "Half full" could mean you have 15 GB left (30GB drive) or 80 GB left (160gb drive). If you have 20+ GB free, you should be good for a while.

You should install the OS and Apps on the ssd. Its the data, music, photos, and video that you might want to store externally IF it brings your ssd close to the full mark.

I would leave your ssd around 20% free otherwise you may experience a performance degradation but this is not set in stone. Some do and some dont and it is hard to jusdge without knowing what ssd you have.

I have OS and apps installed on my SSD, and I install games on my Raptor. I have a WD green drive for all my media storage/use.

If I had a larger SSD I would put games on there too, but as it is I don't want the SSD going beyond 70% full if I can avoid it. I'm sitting comfortably at 54% full now and I don't have any more apps I plan on installing anytime soon.

OS and apps are on my SSD. That puts it just past half full with 26GB free.

I have all my games installed on a separate 500GB HDD.

I'm guessing it's better to have the apps you use a lot on the SSD. Games might benefit from load times (though I'm not certain), but unless you mostly just play games on your computer, it's probably not worth swapping the apps on the SSD for the games.
