Since i am trying to save some space in my small dorm i would like to be able to watch TV through my pc. What ATI and NVIDIA cards let me do this...?

And can anyone point me to a thread where they discuss this and the quality of the picture. (I dont want to suffer and watch bad TV is what i mean)

Thanks

From ati you could get one of their all in wonder cards. Nvidia has no card with coaxial input and tv tuner built in, though you could probably get this rigged up with one of their video in cards and a vcr or tuner box of some sort. There was a ti4200 I saw a while back that came with a breakout box that you could hook cable up to. You could also get a seperate card that is specifically for tv, and that's probably what I'd recommend if you don't need a new video card. Image quality..well that was discussed in this thread. Hope this helps a little.

I've heard good things about this:
ATI TV Wonder

I run my cable through my 9700 AIW, which if you need a fast graphics card that's an option also. I'm pretty happy with that aspect.

It is a bit blocky, as are all higher definition monitors (including HDTVs) when running analog. The 9700Pro has some nice filters to clean up the picture, I'm debating if I want to sell my regular TV since I don't use it anymore. Overall, it has some nice features including PVR and TivO, though I do have some issues with the TivO. Never realyy use it anyway.

Office Depot has the Viewsonic external TV tuner on clearace for $64, if you can find one. They work great.
