I want to get Adelphia PowerLink or Comcast's Cable Internet. I am going to get a external modem. I was just wondering what else I would need? Do I need a Enternet port inside my system, or something?

Also, to clear any further problems in this thread, I know I am eligible right now for Adelphia PowerLink cause I checked through their site, and I will be eligible for Comcast Cable INternet in a few months because they just moved in

Yes, you need a network interface card (ethernet card). However, most cable companies will give you one when you sign up. If not, they are like 10 to 20 bucks brand new. You can use a 10BaseT card or a 10/100BaseTX card. Neither will be faster than the other over a cable modem.

The cable company may also provide you with a modem, although they may charge you a little extra for that. We use the one the company gave us, but we might buy our own soon.

Does anyone know if I can put a ethernet card in a DellWEPC? It is a really compact system.

you should be able to put it in any computer unless its one of those that has no PCI slots... Everything is built in, the only way to tell for sure is to open the case and see if there are any open.

But you should be able to put one in.

Buy your own NIC card; they can be gotten for around $15 for a new one. I've got a few 10Mbps ones here too; if the cable company sells you one, I'd be willing to bet that it'd be a big name-brand 3Com thing - something that'll cost you over $30 or more. As far as I'm concerned, a network card is a network card; stuff like Wake-On-Lan, or booting off one, then it might cost something extra.
