do you have dual dvi?
1 vga and 1 dvi, means you shouls set up the small screen on vga and the bigger on dvi. there will be a small decrease in image quality on the vga panel though.

if you have dual dvi, you are fine but you will need ot enable monitor 2 in the diaplay properties.

nope, not really. I have a 19 and 17 and its fine.

enable the 2nd monitor in display properties and drag the on screen monitors to match with the actual monitor layout.

2405 + 2001 is nice because they have the same vertical resolution. LCDs run best off DVI so unless by some miracle your mobo has onboard DVI, you'll want to buy a video card with two DVI ports. You don't have to get it right away since you can run one of them off VGA, but it's really not ideal. NewEgg lets you search for dual DVI when you decide to take the plunge.

AGP how big of a difference does it make picture wise if I get a faster card? Would rather get a cheaper card if it doesn't make that big of a difference.

Try to match the pixel pitch of both monitors. The pixel pitch affects the size of text. A monitor with a significantly larger pixel pitch will have larger letters, and as you drag a web browser or word processor across both screens, it will be distracting to adjust.

I play f.e.a.r, far cry, call of duty 2, games like that. I play poker a lot and while I play I get points and I get buy stuff with these points well I recently bought a 2405 with my points and was thinking about buying a 2001 when I get enough points but if it is easier to just do it with the same monitors then i'll wait a while and save up points for another 2405. Also I planned on buying a new computer in 4-5 months so would I be better off waiting to get the dual dvi card then? What I want to know is will the dvi card I get take the place of my 6600gt card I got now or will my 6600gt still be playing my games for me?

this is the very least of what you should get and it will still not allow high settings on call of duty 2 on the 2001(1600x1200 right?)

I actually recommend getting a better card and just running 1 dvi and 1 vga out. you wont be getting perfect image quality like dvi ut it will be very close and it has more choices and lets you get a more powerful card.

this will serve you well and be signifigantly faster than a 6800gs.

I have 2 DVI ports on my Gainward AGP 6600GT, if he has Analog/DVI, he should have got the converter with it. No need to buy a new card as he is getting new PC 4-5 months from now
