Hi,

I just wanted to make sure what I am doing will work without any problems.

I have installed the Omega drivers for a HD4650 Video Card. They seem to work, but... will there be any problems?

In general, what do I need to do to get older drivers to work ok with newer video cards?

Thanks for any help.

Hmmm....

Some people in FPS games try and get older DX versions to work because they can see through smoke, etc.

That must be what you are up to here with the drivers!

But really, why?

This should shed some light on the OP's unusual request. He's using older operating systems...that he doesn't wish to install OS updates for...

I'll just leave it at that.

yep.. i put post in software for starters, but I think I should have posted here first. mostly it is because omega has had some health issues in his family and he hasn't been able to put out new Omega drivers in over a year. Also, sometimes a newer driver has some problems an older driver does not. So just trying to learn more here. I hadn't thought of the benefits of seeing through smoke or whatever.. i don't see so well, so yes, that would work for me too.

Um...ok, if you say so.

If it installed ok, it should be fine, just run a benchmark (3dmark06 or furmark) to make sure the card functions correctly & you're gtg.

Lemme go offline after that. Watch for a PM.
